Responsibilities:
 
  • Engineer services in the Research and Development arena in the analysis of applied technologies and, when possible, conduct demonstrations of these new technologies
  • Provide results in either the form of a report or a laboratory setting
  • Investigate a specific technology, service, application, software or system and give a written report on the results which may include recommendations for further investigation and could also result in a prototype demonstration
  • Provide technical resources to investigate, prototype, demonstrate, document and transition various advanced security technologies and concepts into FAA administrative and operational networks
  • Help develop and construct laboratory experiments for equipment proof-of-concept demonstration, for equipment characterization, component qualification
  • Support the EA Repository, currently IBM's System Architect®, or equivalent
  • Support the design, development, testing, implementation and on-going support of the FAA EA applications
  • Adhere to the FAA software development lifecycle per the FAA System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process
  • Provide the capability to integrate middleware
